School social workers support students with their social and emotional needs to promote academic and social success. We are a link between home, school and community.
Students may receive social work services throughout the school year as part of an IEP or 504 Plan, or as needed to address short term issues or crises.
Students may be seen by the school social worker individually or in small groups. The school social worker works with students on educational related skills including social interaction skills, self acceptance and coping skills.
The school social worker can also provide resources to families to address their needs outside of the school environment.
